Enjoyable Podcast

I’m delighted to share that I was recently interviewed by fellow artist Shannon Grissom on her Painterly Life podcast (released January 15th). We had a rich and heartfelt conversation about creativity, resilience, and my journey in fused glass — and I’m happy to say it was a wonderful experience.

I’d love for you to listen and enjoy the conversation.

Featured Artist Article in Artsy Shark

I have been insatiably curious for as long as I can remember. As a small child I loved exploring the sand, shells and rocks at the beach, and especially the tidepools…and I have rarely met an artistic medium or material that I didn’t want to experiment with.

When I encountered work made with Bullseye glass at an art festival in the summer of 2013, the heart of my creative world was transformed. I was entranced with art glass, specifically fused glass and started taking classes and then workshops with some exceptional glass artists. And so began my journey exploring the wide range of possibilities with this truly amazing and versatile medium.

I deeply enjoy working with these materials, experimenting with their extraordinary properties at the intersection of light and matter. And I am pleased to share these works created on my journey with you…enjoy! One could think of these pieces as "jewelry for your home or office" that bring pleasure every day.

On a practical note, some of the Discs can be displayed vertically in a metal stand or as a small table with a metal or wood base as the photos indicate. In addition, the surfaces of some of the square Tables are modulated (look closely!) and they are intended to be reversible. Some of these design directions can certainly lend themselves to architectural glass projects and custom interior design applications. Happy to discuss potential projects!
